Blushing Beauty

I've only ever owned two blushes:
1. the NARS multiple stick in G-Spot, but I mostly used this for my lips
2. The Balm Instain in Pinstripe (which is absolutely gorgeous)
When the Sephora VIB Sale rolled around this November, I decided to splurge in a few high end blushes.

When I saw everyone raving about the Becca shimmering skin pressed perfecter in Blushed Copper, I was initially wowed and then a bit skeptical. The color looked freaking gorgeous but also super intense, and I couldn't tell if that was good or bad. I also just couldn't decide whether or not blushes were for me, but I definitely wanted to experiment. After all, that's how I got into eyeshadows, mascara, and pretty much anything and everything makeup related. Being a lazy bum who doesn't leave her dorm, I googled swatches instead of actually going to a Sephora and checking out the product myself, like a normal person.

All in all, the packaging is to die for, and the color is undoubtedly gorgeous, but how would it look on my face? There was only one way to find out: by purchasing it.

Now, this product is a pretty penny. (heheh get it?) Really though. Retailing at $38, das espensive. But, it was limited edition, and I rationed that if anything, I'd just return it. (even though I knew I probably wouldn't.)
SO: Was it worth it? I'll be real; probably not. But that's taking into consideration that I'm a broke college student and not a grown up or a make up artist or anything like that (although I'd love to be). All that aside, this is a gorgeous product. However, depending on your skin tone, it may be a bit hard for you to use as a blush. It's SUPER pigmented, which is great, but that also means you've got to be careful when applying it. Also, when I apply it to my cheeks, it becomes a little more orange and a little less "copper," which kind of sucks. This product would be absolutely gorgeous on dark skin tones, and I'm excited to experiment with this as a blush, and maybe also as an eyeshadow and bronzer even. Considering how light handed I will be with this, there is a LOT of product to last a super long time.

The second blush I bought was Too Faced love flush long-lasting 16-hr blush in I Will Always Love You. This color is a pretty peachy pink, and much more subtle than our previous Becca product. I love Too Faced products, and at $26, I felt way more comfortable buying this than the Becca blush. I was first drawn to this product when Kathleen Lights swatched it in her blush collection video on YouTube. Like I said, I was never a huge blush person, but when I saw this color, I immediately added it to my cart. But then I removed it and moved it to my loves, because I wasn't ready to dive into the blushes. Then, when I was making my VIB purchase, I saw it in my loves and was like, "oh yea! That's a really pretty product." I feel like the VIB sale is the perfect time to start experimenting with new products, especially expensive ones.

SO for packaging, honestly, I wasn't a huge fan. It looked plastic, cheap, and childish. (It reminded me of Polly Pocket toys, and though I know some people liked this, I didn't.) However, once it came in the mail, it actually felt very durable and closed nicely. While I'm still not a huge fan, I don't hateeee it. I also love the gold Too Faced on the front, though that's pretty typical of Too Faced, and I of course loved the bunnies on the blush itself.

This product is way less pigmented than the Becca blushed copper, but in a way that makes it easier to work with as a blush, especially since I will more likely be doing subtle blush looks. (Swatch in last photo)

NARS is another high end makeup brand that I adore, but this collaboration duo took another huge chunk out of my wallet. But it is absolutely stunning. While more expensive than the Becca blushed copper and less hyped than it, I loved it more. I questioned purchasing this duo less than I did the Becca blush, which was interesting since the Becca blushed copper seemed to come with more product. (I may be wrong, as I didn't check the actual mL of product, but the Becca just seemed bigger, and considering the NARS product is a duo, the Becca blush definitely comes with more blush product.) Then again, this NARS product being a duo is a perk in and of itself. Two birds with one stone, or whatever, right?

As for packaging, its great. Just great. It's slim and sleek and feels smooth and just lovely. The highlight is white gold and shimmery, and the blush is a gorgeous brick red, also with hints of shimmer. Both have great color payoff, and are super smooth to touch. (Joey came over and opened my Sephora box for me, and she touched it before I got the chance to and basically screamed out "ITS SO SOFT.") I love the color of this blush because it's deep and unique. It reminds me of my purple/mauve The Balm blush, which I also love for its deepness and uniqueness. They're both SUCH pretty fall/winter blushes.

Last but not least, here are some swatches!
